Old Gringo Boots, founded in 2000 by Ernie Tarut and Yan Ferry, specializes in handcrafted leather boots with bold designs.
After two decades in San Diego, an iconic boot brand is headed south to the Fort Worth Stockyards.
Old Gringo Boots is moving its headquarters to 2322 N. Main Street., right by the Adobe Western Art Gallery and across the street from chef Tim Love's Ático. The move also comes with the brand's first-ever retail store, which will set up shop at the east corner of Exchange Avenue at Stockyards Station.
“After 20 years in Sunny California, we have relocated our headquarters to the City of Cowboys and Culture. As one of the fastest growing cities, Fort Worth aligns with our entrepreneurial spirit and connects us with our love for the Modern West. Relocating to Texas will benefit our accessibility, giving us a central point for distribution from coast to coast,” Ernie Tarut, co-founder of Old Gringo Boots, said in a statement. “We look forward to building relationships in this community and welcoming everyone to experience our first ever retail store."
Old Gringo will occupy a three-story building, with a 5,314-square-foot shop at the ground level, office space on the second, and a seafood restaurant — Old Gringo Grill — on the third. The restaurant will feature a wood-fired grill and balcony offering views of both the Stockyards and downtown.

Old Gringo will occupy a three-story building, with the 5,314-square-foot shop at the ground level, office space on the second, and a seafood restaurant — Old Gringo Grill — on the third.
The store itself will carry over 100 boot styles, including in-store exclusives and apparel like shirts, jackets, custom hats, handbags, and belts. There will also be an in-store bar, allowing guests to grab a drink and sit out on the covered patio with a clear view of the Fort Worth Herd's twice-daily cattle drive.
Old Gringo Boots is the brainchild of co-founders Ernie Tarut and Yan Ferry, who launched the company in 2000. The company specializes in bold, fashion-forward designs, hand-making each boot at a factory in Leon, Mexico, with a meticulous 275-step process.
Old Gringo Boots expects to finish construction in the first quarter of 2022, with grand opening plans for the shop to be announced at a later date. More information is available at oldgringoboots.com.
