Whether it's curls, waves, or kinks, Fort Worth's newest salon is encouraging women to embrace their natural hair.
DFW Beauty Studio is opening in East Fort Worth at 2800 Yeager St., Ste. C. The four-chair salon, which will sport a "classy and cool" interior, will specialize in textured hair, says owner Francelia Williams.
"We're catering to clients who don't know how to take care of their curly hair, who currently straighten their hair a lot and maybe not want to do that as much," she says. "We want to be able to teach them how to work with the texture and be able to get people to embrace their hair texture the way that it is, and find fun and cool ways to live in it."
The building is also home to custom suit company Franklin & Anthony and general contractor DIG Contracting, owned by Williams's husband, Dante. Construction on the space finished this past week, and Williams says she's currently looking for stylists to join her team.
Williams has been doing hair professionally since 2013. After graduating from Paul Mitchell the School, she worked in various salons in Arlington and opened her own suite before deciding to bring her business back home.
A grand opening date has not yet been set, but Williams hopes to open once other stylists have been hired.
