From sailors and prisoners to Jean Paul Gaultier and Chanel, stripes have played a major role in fashion since the beginning. Now the lovely and linear pattern has graced the catwalk for spring 2015. Bold rainbow hues and stripes in every direction took center stage at Peter Pilotto. Even Victoria Beckham hopped on the stripe train adorning a trench in cream and khaki lines. Don't think for a second that DKNY would miss out on this fun trend. Multicolor stripes of various sizes rocked the runway on dresses, tops and skirts.
I chose to style a nautical striped shirt in a more traditional way. You can't go wrong with a classic. Pair a striped tee with skinny jeans and flats a la Audrey Hepburn or with flares and wedges for another classic look.
Do you want to wear statement stripes? Or are you nautical by nature?
P.S. Diagonal stripes (like this maxi dress or maxi skirt) are most flattering to elongate your silhouette!
