Somewhere between the faded Polaroids of yesterday and the electric hum of tomorrow, the Goo Goo Dolls are gearing up for a summer to remember. On Nov. 15, 2024, the multi-platinum, four-time GRAMMY-nominated band — veterans of heartbreak ballads and soul-stirring anthems — unveiled plans for their “Summer Anthem Tour 2025.” With Dashboard Confessional along for the ride, it’s set to be a cross-country pilgrimage through some of the most iconic venues, including a midsummer stop at Fort Worth's Dickies Arena on Wednesday, July 16.
For John Rzeznik, the band’s frontman, it’s all about connections—old and new. “We’re truly excited to bring this tour to our friends, both longtime and new,” Rzeznik shares. “We’ve been working hard on our 15th studio album, so there will be fresh songs along with all the classics you know and love. Every tour is a chance to make new memories and reconnect with everyone who’s been there since day one.”
Rzeznik adds. “And with Dashboard Confessional? They’re one of the last great American rock bands. This summer is going to be all about loud music, good friends, and unforgettable nights. Oh, and by the way, it’s the 25th anniversary of A Boy Named Goo. Crazy, right? Seems like yesterday. Can’t wait to celebrate with all of you. Don’t forget to sing along!”
And sing along we will. With hits like the global sensation “Iris,” now Certified Diamond and boasting over 2 billion streams worldwide, the Goo Goo Dolls’ set promises to be a journey through three decades of music history. Fans can also expect tracks from their 2022 album Chaos in Bloom, alongside the deep cuts and fan favorites that shaped the soundtrack of countless lives.
Tickets go public on Friday, November 22, via Ticketmaster, but eager fans can snag early access starting today, Thursday, November 21, at 10 a.m. using the unlock code “DICKIES.”
In true Goo Goo Dolls fashion, the tour isn’t just about the music—it’s about making an impact. Partnering with Joe Torre’s Safe At Home, the band aims to support youth affected by violence, shining a light on healing and education services that break the cycle of trauma.
It’s hard to fathom just how much ground Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac have covered since forming in Buffalo, NY, back in 1986. Over three decades, they’ve sold 15 million records worldwide, earned 16 #1 and Top 10 hits, and claimed the all-time radio record for “Most Top 10 Singles.” Albums like Dizzy Up The Girl (5x Platinum) and A Boy Named Goo (2x Platinum) are etched into pop-rock history.
Their influence transcends generations, with covers by artists like Taylor Swift and Phoebe Bridgers, and tracks like “Iris”—which held Billboard’s Hot 100 #1 spot for an astounding 18 weeks—which continues to go viral and redefine timelessness.
For the Goo Goo Dolls, 2025 is shaping up to be a year of celebration: a new album, a nod to their storied past, and a summer tour that promises to be equal parts nostalgia and fresh energy. “Where did the time go?” Rzeznik asks. It’s a question only the music can answer.
So mark your calendars, grab your tickets, and get ready to belt out every lyric under the summer sky. The Goo Goo Dolls are coming, and the anthem they’re bringing is definitely one for the ages.
