The former Collective Brewing Project space is being transformed into a music venue — one that, according to a news release, is the first mid-sized music venue the city has seen since the days of Caravan of Dreams.
Tulips FTW is slated to open at 112 St. Louis St. in August, with a decided focus on touring acts not necessarily based in Fort Worth. According to the release, "As the city nears a population of 850,000, we have stayed confined to local acts being staged at a circuit of favorite bars, but the touring acts worth higher ticket prices still skip us for Dallas. The market is here, but until now, the option hasn’t been. Tulips FTW will remedy this shortcoming."
So, the venue's first performer will be Austin's Band of Heathens on Aug. 21. In September, Tulips FTW will host Philadelphia singer-songwriter Kurt Vile.
Still, the venue isn't closed to local performers. Guests can expect national, regional, and local acts, ranging in genres from Texas country to hip-hop.
The 600-person venue will also serve beer, cocktails, and food. An outdoor patio will be open year-round for food trucks and special events.
According to the release, Tulips FTW is making "cautious progress" toward its August opening in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The venue plans to livestream every concert on its website through Prekindle, and for those who attend in person, the venue will seat guests at a distance, use single-use containers, and have enhanced ventilation and sanitation practices.
“When the world is ready for it, we will build a home for patrons of music, arts, food, and all creative endeavors to drive the Fort Worth entertainment scene, as a 600-person community cultural center with a superior sound system and world-class entertainment, provided in a safe environment," owner Jason Suder said in a statement.
