Heim Barbecue
One hundred eighty-five years ago — on March 2, 1836 — 59 delegates signed the Texas Declaration of Independence, declaring freedom from the rule of Mexico. One hundred eighty-five years later, many Texans are celebrating Texas Independence Day in the most Texas way possible — with barbecue and beer.
So, if you're inclined to don a cowboy hat and boots on this day, here are a few Fort Worth establishments where you can celebrate independence like all git-out.
Berry St. Ice House
Perhaps one of the biggest parties is taking place at TCU-area joint Berry St. Ice House, where 95.9 The Ranch will broadcast live with performances by musicians James Lann and Aaron Copeland. Berry St. Ice House will have $6 drinks featuring Fort Worth-based Silver Star Spirits and $3 Miller Lite, along with specials like the Texas Honey Palmer and Texas Mule. The party lasts from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Tulips
The Near Southside's newest music venue, Tulips, is hosting a BBQ Pop Up with Yellow Rose Smokehouse from noon to sellout. Big Mike will also perform starting at 7 p.m.
Rahr & Sons Brewing Company
Rahr & Sons Brewing Company has invited Heim Barbecue over for a Texas Tuesday Pop-Up from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Near Southside brewery. Six-packs of Rahr's Pride of Texas are also available to-go for $6.
Cowtown Brewing Company
Cowtown Brewing Company is offering happy hour all day long for Texas Independence Day — $2 off all appetizers and beers (with the exception of special releases).
Whiskey Ranch
Now, Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co.'s Whiskey Ranch has been closed to events due to COVID-19. However, the distillery is open for curbside pickup and, in honor of Texas Independence Day, has released a pretty cool lookin' TX flag bottle. Check it out here.
