Got those late night munchies? Sometimes it can be hard to find a place open late that isn't considered the typical fast food joint. I love popular fast food options like Whataburger at 2 a.m., but sometimes I feel like branching out to unique places. Here's a quick list of places that are open until midnight or later to satisfy those late night cravings.

This isn't just a restaurant that stays open late, it's a resturant that is only open late. Headed up by Evan Williams, a bartender at nearby The Usual, this new late night spot has an ever-changing menu that includes decadent and out-of-the-box options like a vegan banh mi, fried chicken and waffles plus secret menu items.

Taco Heads

Originally starting out as a food truck, Taco Heads, founded by Sarah Castillo, settled the restaurant in a permanent location on Montgomery Street. Go late at night to get your fill of items like the roasted chipotle brisket tacos or carnitas tacos. Snap a pic of the beautiful view of the city and an even more beautiful view of a taco, plus maybe a margarita or two.

Thursday-Saturday 7 a.m.-Midnight
Sunday-Wednesday 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
Velvet Taco

Late night and tacos go together like chips and queso. You can't go wrong with a plethora of delicious taco choices that will satisfy that rumbling stomach of yours at Velvet Taco, located on the corner of West 7th Street and Carroll Street. When I say they are open really late, I mean it. If you want a taco at 3:30 a.m. on Friday or Saturday night, you're in luck because they're open until 4 a.m.

The Bearded Lady

It's known for more than just its craft beer. Located off West Magnolia Avenue, the Bearded Lady offers great pub style food until 2 a.m every day. This relaxed atmosphere is the perfect place to sit back and hang out with friends. Get your fill of classics such as The Brat Pack (mini bratwursts served three ways) or the Fancy Grilled Cheese.
The Bearded Lady's hours are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Sunday.

Located on Magnolia Avenue, Benito's serves up authentic Mexican dishes late into the night. This is the real deal, not Tex-Mex style food. If you want great Mexican food until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, this is the place to go.
