Berry Street Ice House
The funky metal building that once housed Americado and BirdieBop now has a new restaurant looking to lure the TCU-area crowd.
Berry Street Ice House opened Monday at 2000 W. Berry St., offering bar food and booze but also promising a family-friendly atmosphere. Its menu lists items like Mama G's Nachos (nacho cheese Doritos, melted Pepper Jack cheese, and house-pickled jalapeños), a Frog Burger (double-stacked, custom blend patty seared in duck fat with white cheddar), and the Smoked & Fried Bologna Sandwich (mayo, dijon, homemade cheese whiz, and grilled onions on a salt and pepper bun).
Happy hour starts at 1 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. The drink menu includes a house margarita, house wines, frozen drinks, spirits, and draft and craft beer.
Diners will need to head outdoors for dessert — the restaurant also has a vintage Airstream near the back patio, serving snow cones and sundaes, along with boozy milkshakes. The outdoor space is also decked out with games like cornhole, giant Connect 4, and soccer goals. There's also space for live music.
Berry Street is owned by Kyle Bryson, Wallace Owens, and executive chef Stefon Rishel — the trio that makes up Trident Restaurant Group, which also owns Wishbone & Flynt/Amber Room in Fort Worth's South Main district. Berry Street marks their second restaurant opened in 2020, and according to a press release, additional concepts are in the works for this year and 2021.
