The original BoomerJack’s Grill & Bar location at 2600 W. Seventh Street, will soon be no more as of January 21st. This news was shared by BoomerJack’s founder Brent Tipps in a statement released earlier this week that read:
“We have made the difficult decision to permanently close our first BoomerJack’s Grill location, off of [Seventh] Street in Montgomery Plaza. We strive to always provide the best experience possible but as we looked for ways to update this location, we couldn’t reach an agreement with the landlord.”
Ever since BoomerJack’s opened the doors to this original spot 17 years ago in Montgomery Plaza, it has become a mainstay in the bustling neighborhood it inhabits. Over the years, this sports bar has expanded to sixteen different locations that include spots in Dallas, Mesquite, and Grapevine to name a few. There are three BoomerJack’s in Cowtown alone, which is where the current team members working at the West Seventh locale will be placed post closre, according to Tipps.
However, instead of leaving this franchise’s starting point with heads hung low, Tipps announced that he will be hosting a bash to celebrate the closure of this sports bar’s birthplace. As a thank you/farewell, Tipps is inviting valued guests and BoomerJack’s alumni to help bid adieu to this spot on Friday January 19th at 4 p.m.
In 2017, Tipps was named as one of our Entrepreneurs of Excellence. Not bad for a former server who once lived in a warehouse for storing equipment.
“This location has meant so much to us and we can’t thank the community and our long-time supporters enough for letting us serve you all these years,” Tipps says. “It has truly been an incredible ride and we look forward to seeing you soon at our other locations.”
