The Collective Brewing Project

The Collective Brewing Project confirmed rumors late Wednesday evening on its closure.
In a social media post, Collective announced, “Well, I’ve been putting off making this announcement. Since we’re not able to access our building and there are rumors stacking up, here we go. As of today The Collective Brewing Project is closing its doors indefinitely.”
Founded by Ryan Deyo and Mike Goldfuss, Collective Brewing opened its brewery and tap house in Fort Worth’s south side in 2014 at 112 St. Louis Ave. It was one of the first breweries to call Fort Worth home. They sold their first kegs to Brewed on Magnolia in June of that year.
The Collective Brewing Project stayed true to their passion of crafting sour and funky beers with the help of their favored yeast strain ― Brett Lambicus (or Brett for short), and their sours were some of the best in town. But sours are not everybody’s mug of beer.
One of their most popular was the Mustache Rye’d, which was fermented with Brett, then aged in bourbon barrels with sour cherry flavors added. Another offering was their Gratuitous T- Rex ― a 100-percent Brett-fermented citra-fresh hopped IPA. Other beers were their Doom Slayer ― Collective’s cherry sour, a Blueberry Lime Gose, and their Petite Sour.
“For the last five years there have been a ton of ups and downs. Owning a small business is the best and worst decision one can make. We’ve done some cool things in beer. My list of things we’ve accomplished is pretty long but ultimately they pale in comparison to the relationships we’ve made over the last five years,” the announcement went on to say.
