The acclaimed Dallas-based Spanish-style tapas concept Si Tapas Restaurant and Bar will be expanding to a new location in Fort Worth. This new eatery will reside in the former Fireside Pies space at 2949 Crockett Street. Younger Partners confirmed in a release that it signed a lease with Texas tapas pioneer Ildefonso Jimenez for this new location, which will reside on Fort Worth’s Crockett Row.
Si Tapas is known for offering both classical and contemporary Spanish cuisine in the form of tapas, which is Spanish for appetizers or snacks. Jimenez opened Si Tapas in Uptown Dallas in 2009. Jimenez had previously operated Cafe Madrid, Dallas' original tapas restaurant with his then-wife Donica.
Some of the current menu items on Si’s Dallas menu include tapas classics such as cold cuts, cheeses, olives, garlic shrimp, patatas bravas, calamari, Spanish potato omelet, serrano ham croquettes, and more. Other menu items include baby lamb chops on the grill, sauteed chicken and beer sauce, and fried pork belly with chocolate sauce. Besides the cuisine, Si Tapas also offers house drinks and a select wine list of unique Spanish wines hand selected by region.
For the new Fort Worth locale, Ildefonso will be adding “exclusive” menu items such as Cochinillo, a Spanish dish consisting of a roasted pig with succulent meat, tender crispy skin, and a very thin layer of fat; and Lechazo, a Spanish dish consisting of roasted lamb.
“We are excited and grateful for the opportunity to expand our second location of Si Tapas into Fort Worth’s growing culinary scene,” Jimenez says.
This is not the first time Jimenez has expanded his tapas concept. In 2014, he opened a location in Austin and had a spinoff on McKinney Avenue called Hola!
Kathy Permenter, co-managing partner of Younger Partners, says in a statement that they're thrilled to bring Si Tapas to Fort Worth.
“They have many Fort Worth patrons and this new location will give them a chance to enjoy a tapas in a casual elegant setting,” she says.
Younger Partners purchased Crockett Row in August of 2022 and has a strategic plan to revitalize the development to become a top-of-mind destination for multi-generational customers.
The new Si Tapas Fort Worth spot is expected to open in early Fall 2023.
