Serious Pizza
A Dallas-based pizza shop is expanding into Fort Worth — and it’s serious.
After originating in Deep Ellum in 2016, Serious Pizza is opening its second location at 2728 W. Seventh St. within the next four weeks.
“We acquired Serious Pizza in 2019, and one of the first places I was told by the original founders and members of staff to expand to was Fort Worth,” says Imran Sheikh, founding partner and CEO of hospitality group Milkshake Concepts. “There were always people in from Fort Worth, and there were always messages on social media from people from Fort Worth. The very natural second location outside of the flagship was Fort Worth.”
Serious Pizza’s new, 3,029 square-foot space will feature a patio for outdoor dining, live music, and multiple televisions to show major sporting events, movies, and more.
The restaurant is recognized for its oversized, New York-style slices and 30-inch pizza pies. Beginning where most pizza parlors end, Serious Pizza offers three sizes: 18-inch, 24-inch, and of course, the “seriously large” 30-inch.
While still carrying classics such as cheese and pepperoni, specialty pizzas include The Jamaican Jerk, The Hawaiian, and the Philly. Customers can also choose to build their own.
While the restaurant is serious about its pizza, Sheikh says he wants the environment inside the store to be anything but. From the carefully curated music playing in the background to the ability to watch the 30-inch dough being thrown while waiting in line, customers are encouraged to take an active part in the process.
In addition to offering to-go and delivery services, Serious Pizza will be open until 3 a.m. on the weekends for late-night dining.
“We’re super excited to come to Fort Worth,” Sheikh says. “Just from the loyalty of fans to Serious Pizza, who we’ve seen drive from Fort Worth to Deep Ellum, we’re excited to give them a place of their own to call home.”
