Drive-thrus aren't just for fast-food joints and Starbucks anymore.
On Wednesday, a health-conscious, drive-thru-only concept — Salad and Go — will open its first Fort Worth location at 3400 Hulen St. The small chain, which only has locations in Arizona and Texas right now, offers made-to-order salads, breakfast burritos, and drinks like cold brew, flavored iced teas, and housemade lemonade.
The salad menu lists familiar options like cobb, Caesar, and Greek, as well as nontraditional offerings like bruschetta caprese and rotating seasonal specials. Guests can choose among three different proteins — chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
Salad and Go is also looking to give back to the community. While its Arizona locations are known to make 4,000 salads weekly for those in need, Salad and Go's Fort Worth location plans to donate over 1,500 salads and burritos to Tarrant Area Food Bank during opening week.
Hours are Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Diners who get there early — that is, between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. — can get a free salad or wrap with the purchase of a breakfast burrito. More information is available at saladandgo.com.
