Stop the presses (and maybe your diets): Everman is finally getting its own McDonald’s, the first quick-service restaurant to grace the town in over two decades, according to a release. Grisset Enterprises, clearly committed to shaking things up, is hosting a two-day celebration on January 10-11, 2025, complete with flashy giveaways, a petting zoo, and a chance to snag free Big Macs for a year. Because who needs a salad when you can have eternal fast food glory?
The festivities kick off Friday, January 10, with an "App-y Hour" from 3–5 p.m., featuring complimentary samples, door prizes, and even a photo op with the legendary and iconic Dr. Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth”. Because nothing says “progress” like posing for selfies between bites of free nuggets.
On Saturday, January 11, the party continues from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a Ronald McDonald meet-and-greet (clown lovers, rejoice) and a petting zoo courtesy of Timberview Farms. If you’ve ever dreamed of feeding a goat and a craving simultaneously, this is your moment.
For the competitive eaters and prize hunters out there, the giveaways are where it’s at:
A year’s worth of Big Macs (once a week—let’s not go overboard).
A 50-inch TV, headphones, a block party speaker, BMX bikes, and $20 Arch Cards.
Because nothing pairs with fries quite like a shiny new bike you’ll ride twice.
For those who aren’t into contests but love a bargain, McDonald’s is dishing out daily deals from January 10-17:
$0.50 Ice Cream Cones
$1.00 Small Fries
$1.00 Cheeseburgers
$1.00 Sausage Biscuits
Cheap eats and a side of civic excitement? Sounds like a win.
So, mark your calendars, Everman. Whether you’re here for the Big Macs, the baby goats, or the chance to meet Ronald himself, this grand opening promises to be a (golden) arches-sized event.
