A one-of-a-kind culinary event that will showcase the cuisine of not one — not two — but three chefs who have been James Beard-recognized will be taking place in Cowtown on January 27.
This event, which is being hosted in part by Texas Monthly, Visit Fort Worth, and TX Whiskey Ranch, will bring together the cuisine of Tom Perini, Michael Fojtasek, and Rodrigo Cárdenas for the first time. The Fort Worth Food + Wine Foundation picked these three chefs to showcase how food has a unique way of uniting people and transcending borders, according to a release.
This exclusive dining experience, being hosted at TX Whiskey Ranch, is being labeled “Beyond Borders: A Culinary Journey.” This cross-cultural foodie event will explore the flavors and traditions that that helped shape the Texas culinary landscape. Since our state is definitely a crossroads between cowboy, vaquero, and southern cuisine — to name a few — this event is sure to appease various palates and appetites.
"We're excited to take guests on a journey that transcends borders and brings together the best of our culinary traditions," said FWFWF executive director Julie Eastman. "This event is about celebrating the shared love for good food and the rich cultural tapestry that has shaped Texas cuisine."
To represent the West, will be chef Perini, known for his restaurant Perini Ranch Steakhouse in Buffalo Gap, Texas. For the Southern portion will be chef Fojtasek from San Antonio’s Olamaie, which consists of elevated farm-fresh ingredients. And representing Northern Mexican cuisine will be our very own chef Cardenas from Don Artemio.
