Parlor Doughnuts is an old-fashioned, gourmet doughnut dreamland with out-of-the-box, funky flavors and robust cups of coffee.
The Parlor Doughnuts’ origin story began with a dad and son’s love of trying coffee and doughnuts around the country. In fact, the initial concept included only a coffee shop before they tacked on the idea of serving doughnuts. With its anchor in Evansville, Indiana, the popular shop quickly expanded and recently franchised to 22 locations as of this writing. The Fort Worth store, which opened in June 2021, is their first and only Texas location. But that novelty will expire in early fall when a new location will open in South Lake.
There are about 27 flavors, each vastly different than the other — some wildly inventive while others are new spins on classic recipes. What makes this doughnut different than your average corner doughnut shop — or even some other franchises that have hopped on the funky doughnut train — is its dough. The homemade old-fashioned doughnut is shockingly light and fluffy on the inside with a dynamic range of taste on the outside.

Parlor Doughnuts:
Shop recommendations: French Toast, Cookie Monster, and Coconut Cream Filled
Our recommendations: Campfire, Maple Bacon, and Cookies N' Cream
Our take: The shop’s doughnuts are incomparable. Other shops that serve old-fashioned doughnuts can’t rival Parlor’s balance of sweetness and deliciousness. Like a Baskin-Robbins of doughnuts, the shop has an overwhelming amount of options. So, whether you’ve got a sweet tooth or are a classic doughnut lover, there’s a little something for everyone. The coffee is also incredibly smooth and pairs nicely with their deep-fried pastries. Forewarning, the doughnuts are dense in flavor (and calories), so if you do make the trek to Parlot’s, come withan empty stomach and high expectations.
