Fred's Texas Cafe Brunch
Alright you foodies and brunch-goers, this one is for you. Fred’s Texas Cafe is launching an all-new weekend brunch menu starting this weekend.
Newly appointed Head Chef Fabian Alvarado along with owner Quincy Wallace and general manager Cliff Whaley have accepted the challenge of incorporating true Texas-style brunch items at their local burger and brew joint. We’re talking hearty brunch with a side of homemade cream gravy and topped with a quail or two. To name a few of the items you can expect: chicken fried steak and eggs, and huevos rancheros, S.O.S. — two of Fred’s famous biscuits smothered in homemade cream gravy and fresh pork sausage.
In honor of the new menu launch this weekend, Fred’s will start opening at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays with brunch service until 2 p.m.
Fred’s fans will remember this beloved watering hole recently resided on West 7th, but after owners made the decision to officially retire, the doors to the flagship location closed at the end of 2020.
We’re aware we’ve written adnauseum about the new location but, in case your short-term memory isn’t sharp, or you simply haven’t heard, the new West Fort Worth location on Camp Bowie is set to open late next month. The new location will include an extended covered outdoor patio, a bigger indoor dining space, and an event stage for live music. In addition to good eats, Fred’s will continue to pull signature sounds of local talent to the stage. The new Camp Bowie location will also bring back seasonal and specialty menu items of the past including Friday night specials and old-timer favorites from the grill.
Until then, you can enjoy brunch at their 2730 Western Center location in North Fort Worth. Standby for an announcement on the grand opening celebration. We’re looking forward to being neighbors, Fred’s.
