HotelVinBubble
Social distancing has had a way of making everyone feel as if they were living in a bubble, it seems.
But some restaurants have run with the idea, putting up igloo-style bubble tents that allow guests to dine in seclusion and, hopefully, away from COVID-19. Though some professionals have been skeptical of the trend, that hasn't stopped bubble dining from making its way to restaurants everywhere from Seattle to New York City — and now, Grapevine, at the newly opened Hotel Vin.
Hotel Vin has set up four bubble tents atop its Rioja Rooftop Terrace — each equipped with speakers, furniture, and heaters — where guests can enjoy specialty cocktails, fine wines, craft beer, and light bites while overlooking Downtown Grapevine. Per Hotel Vin, bubbles are fully sanitized between seating and reservations.
Reserving a bubble costs $250 and includes a two-hour cocktail and dining experience, with a bottle of Cava (Segura Viudas Reserva Heredad) from Spain and Mediterranean Mezze medley for six. Those who book during happy hour from 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. can get in at a reduced rate of $100.
Reservations are required and offered on a first come, first serve basis. Those interested can reserve via OpenTable or by calling 817-251-3077. Or, if reservations are full, Rioja Rooftop Terrace also has additional seating and fire pits for those who'd like to visit — you know, outside the bubble.
