While cooking this sauce, be sure to taste and add extra liquid smoke, vinegar, granulated garlic or other ingredient to suit your preferences.
3 cups ketchup
1 1/2 cups water *
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons molasses
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons liquid smoke
2 tablespoons Pickapeppa sauce
1 tablespoon salt
2 teaspoons cider vinegar, or to taste
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon granulated garlic, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes, stirring often, until flavors are blended.
* For a thinner sauce, add more water as desired.
