Voicebox Karaoke
Voicebox Lounge is expected to open mid to late November.
Voicebox Karaoke is gearing up for its Fort Worth debut around Thanksgiving. That means you only have a few more months before your voice needs to be performance-ready.
The new lounge will provide the privacy and convenience of eight suites ― the same kind of experience that has been all the rage in Japan for decades. This is not just another open-mic opportunity to belt out a few tunes.
Former hardware engineer Scott Simon founded Voicebox to bring a more authentic, Japanese-style karaoke to the states. Voicebox kicked things off in Portland, where the brand has two locations. The next location opened in Denver, and two more locations are on the horizon. One will be in Boise, and the other will be a 3,900-square-foot location at 2955 Crockett St.
Lizzy Grubbs, the marketing manager at Voicebox, says the lounge expects to open mid to late November.
The suites will be loaded with two screens, microphones, and quality sound and lighting equipment to set the mood. Vocalists can choose from over 71,000 song titles, available in 20 different languages.
The menu is not set at this point, but plans are for it to be similar to the one at the Denver location, Grubbs says. That’ll include standards like pizza, pretzels, and chicken strips alongside Voicebox’s popular Piglets in a Blanket: a footlong frank wrapped in puff pastry and served with mustard.
One cocktail that has been on all Voicebox menus is the Veruca Salt (the Willy Wonka homage to the little girl who wants everything NOW). It has house-infused hibiscus tequila, agave syrup, grapefruit juice, lime, and soda served in a salted glass. There will be a selection of local beers and a handful of traditional sakes on hand too.
Minors are allowed to join in on the fun before 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and before 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
