Hey Porter
Granbury-based Revolver Brewing Company released a new beer Thursday, teaming up with Bulleit Frontier Whiskey to reimagine one of Revolver's earliest recipes.
The new brew took Revolver's original Hey Porter and aged it for four months in Bulleit bourbon barrels. The result — the Frontier Porter, a beer with roasted and chocolate malt flavors that combine with subtle notes of spice and toffee from the oak. The limited-edition beer is currently available at select on-premise locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Frontier Porter joins Bulleit's ongoing Bulleit & Beer series, a lineup of collaborations between the Kentucky-based whiskey distillery and local beer companies.
"For Bulleit, being a part of the local community is extremely important, and we do that by partnering with those who, like Revolver, are pushing boundaries to do new and innovative things in their craft,” Ed Bello, global brand director at Bulleit Frontier Whiskey, said in a statement. “When our friends at Revolver threw out the idea of taking one of their most popular beers and reimagining it with us, we were immediately on board, and we could not be more excited for those in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to experience this collaboration for themselves.”
According to Bulleit and Revolver, the best way to experience the beer is by drinking it out of a snifter glass between 50 – 55 degrees. Frontier Porter has an ABV of 8%.
“We were inspired to create a brew that properly embodies the innovative and creative spirit upon which both the Revolver and Bulleit brands were built,” Evan Howard Kuhner, Revolver Brewing field marketing manager, said in a statement. “This collaboration with Bulleit marks a new milestone for Revolver, and has given us the chance to experiment and create new top-line brews for the beer-loving community in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.”
