SoB
A new restaurant concept known for pushing the boundaries on its slider recipes is now officially open at 9649 Sage Meadow Trail near Alliance.
The playfully named Son of a Butcher restaurant opened the doors to its newly built 2,388-square-foot location today. This new spot, which boasts both indoor and outdoor dining spaces, is perfect for soaking in the Texas sunshine while also being one of the only places slider fans can get a PB&J Slider at the same time.
This versatile space will also be host to a series of pet adoption events, allowing guests to bond with their future furry best friends while enjoying some unique fare. Also, the restaurant’s dog-friendly patio, complete with turf grass, picnic tables, and fans, creates an ideal spot for family and four-legged pals to hang out.
“We’re thrilled to officially open our doors in Alliance and share our exciting slider menu with the community,” said Tim Timbs, president of Son of a Butcher. “We had a great time welcoming local businesses and first responders for a first taste, and now we’re ready for everyone to experience SoB’s sliders, shakes, and more.”
This opening marks the fourth Son of a Butcher in the DFW area with other locales in Grapevine and Lower Greenville, TX, and its flagship stall at Legacy Food Hall in Plano.
For those of you not familiar with SoB’s menu, it consists of a series of chef-inspired sliders, all made with the freshest ingredients, including locally raised Wagyu beef. This includes SoB’s popular PB&J Slider, served with Blackberry jam, bacon, crunchy peanut butter, American cheese, and a caramelized onion. Or get a taste of the Burnt Ends Slider, served with smoked brisket, Cheddar, pickled red onion, house BBQ sauce, and a rosemary lime aioli.
Foodies can also get their chicken on by trying out the restaurant’s Frikka Tikka, made with fried chicken, paneer cheese, cilantro, basil, pickled red onion, raita lime mayo, and spicy tikka sauce.
Outside of this, SoB is also known for its standout side dishes like its Loaded Brisket Fries, served with smoked brisket, four-cheese sauce, BBQ sauce, and pickled red onions, or its Thai Chili Brussels Sprouts made with Thai chili sauce, sesame seeds, and cilantro.
For all of you suffering with a sweet tooth, get your hands on one of SoB’s signature shakes, which can be made “boozy” for an additional $2. Try the Cookie Butter shake made with cookie butter, caramel sauce, house-made whipped cream, Biscoff cookie & crumbles, along with somew powdered sugar. Craving something salty and sweet at the same time? Order the Salted Caramel Pretzel shake made with pretzels, salted caramel sauce, house-made whipped cream, and powdered sugar.
“My wife and I live in the Alliance area and know this concept is going to be such a fun addition to the growing dining scene,” general manager of Son of a Butcher, Jens Pederson said. “Our patio is a great place to relax, and we’re looking forward to hosting some exciting events this season. Whether you're here for sliders or just good vibes, it’s going to be a great time!”
