Morgan's Ice Cream
The former home of Gypsy Scoops will soon be serving up ice cream again.
Morgan's Ice Cream opens Friday at 321 S. Main St., run by the same couple behind Dwell Coffee & Biscuits, Jeff and Stephanie Brannon ("Morgan" is the name of their daughter and also Stephanie's middle name). The shop will serve classic flavors like vanilla and butter pecan, and also revamp Gypsy Scoops' old flavors like the Cookie Monster (made with naturally dyed blue yellow cake sweet cream ice cream with Oreos and chocolate chip cookies mixed in) and Wookies Cookies (cinnamon sweet cream ice cream with chocolate shavings and crumbled, glazed oatmeal cookies).
Opening in December also means Morgan's will be serving up Christmas-themed flavors like Peppermint Stick and the Buddy the Elf Cone — a double scoop of maple syrup sweet cream ice cream with naturally dyed green spaghetti noodles, topped with chocolate sauce drizzle, crushed M&M’s, mini marshmallows, and a pop tart piece.
The space underwent a full cosmetic remodel, sporting a "bright and fun" vibe with pink as the prominent color, Jeff Brannon says. The storefront also includes a walk-up window for folks who'd prefer to order from the sidewalk.
Along with cones, Morgan's will serve cold brew floats, milkshakes, and ice cream sandwiches. Customers can also purchase ice cream by the pint.
Morgan's soft opening will take place Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. If all goes well, Brannon says the shop will set firm weekday hours and open next weekend as well.
