Fort Worth will get its first location of Sur La Table this summer when the kitchen supply store opens at Waterside, a 63-acre mixed-use property currently under construction at Bryant Irvin Rd and Arborlawn on the banks of the Trinity River.
Waterside, set to be anchored by Whole Foods Market, is slowly shaping up to be a foodie heaven. The developer announced last year that it will lease three micro-restaurant spaces to local entrepreneurs. The 600 to 1,000-square-foot spaces situated around The Grove (a central public area), will act as new-restaurant incubators with lower startup costs and shorter-term leases.
“Sur La Table is a natural fit into the tenant lineup we're building at Waterside,” said Terry Montesi, CEO, Trademark Property Co.
The Seattle-based store offers high-end kitchen and dining goods and a culinary program with cooking classes led by classically trained chefs. The range of products includes cutlery, cooks' tools, small electrics, tabletop linens, glassware, outdoor items and artisan foods.
The first Tarrant County location of Sur La Table opened in Southlake last November. “We are thrilled to open another Sur La Table store in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, bringing even more jobs to the neighborhood and satisfying the needs of residents who share our passion for cooking," says Diane Neal, CEO of Sur La Table.
Waterside's first phase of development is slated for completion in 2016 and, in addition to Whole Foods, will include REI, Taco Diner, Zoë's Kitchen, Blaze Pizza and Tokyo Joes to name a few. When finished, Waterside will include riverside restaurants, multifamily residential units, hotels and office buildings.
