Bob Sinnott, founder of TOASTED Coffee + Kitchen in Dallas, has spotted a trend. He envisions restaurants expanding to provide a convenient spot for guests to bring in laptops and hang out to get work done.
To make the vision a reality, TOASTED covers all three meals and every craving in between, and will soon open a new location on Crockett Row at West 7th.
A coffee house at its core, Sinnott wants TOASTED to become a destination.
"Enjoy our space. And instead of paying rent, buy a drink, or stay for a meal," he says.
Some people don't want to sign a contract and be tied to one location to work, Sinnott says. Just like Starbucks, TOASTED provides free Wi-Fi and welcomes guests to get a coffee in the morning and work until lunch.
Coffee drinks are made with locally roasted Noble Coyote coffees. The menu also features teas, cold-pressed juices, and smoothies. Craft beer, wine, and cocktails are available for those who want to up the ante.
Then there are the gourmet toasts. They pile everything on top of toasty bread. "Our breads are baked fresh daily. They are Milano, wheat, marble rye, brioche and gluten-free. All are considered vegan except the brioche," he says. Well-known for weekend brunch, which runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays, the breakfast offerings are served all day long.
The original location opened in 2017 on Ross Avenue (the lowest Greenville area) in Dallas. Sinnott sees many similarities between that area and Crockett Row.
"It's an entertainment strip, and we have a big SMU following in Dallas,” Sinnott says. “In Fort Worth, we are happy to be in close proximity to TCU and will be adding to our cocktail menu and doing some Fort Worth-themed specials."
TOASTED Coffee + Kitchen will take up residence at 2972 Crockett St. by late July or early August. The 3500-square-foot space affords plenty of natural light with soaring, 35-foot ceilings, and most of that space boasts floor-to-ceiling windows. The patio wraps the entire front elevation, providing about 40 seats with seating for another 160 inside.
