ZAAP Kitchen
WestBend is welcoming two additions to its dining roster this fall.
Ascension Coffee and ZAAP Kitchen will be opening early November at the WestBend development on University Drive. The former will offer coffee and a full food menu; the latter will focus more on traditional Lao cuisine and Thai street food.
Ascension launched in Dallas in 2012, an Australian-style concept by restaurateur Russell Hayward, who grew up in Sydney and struggled to find a coffee shop with a chef-driven food menu in the U.S.
The 2,420-square-foot Fort Worth location will offer a patio on the river, spacious indoor seating, and coffee to-go directly from the trail, as well as breakfast, lunch, brunch, happy hour, and pastries from Black Rooster Bakery.
ZAAP Kitchen will serve traditional Lao cuisine and Thai street food. The fast-casual restaurant, headed by operating partner and chef Kevin Singharaj, will offer signature dishes such as green papaya salad, pineapple fried rice, and drunken noodles.
