After originating in Taiwan, bubble tea — also known as boba tea or simply, boba — has slowly but surely made its way across the U.S. Coming in a variety of flavors, this tea-based drink is commonly combined with milk and features chewy tapioca pearls at the bottom.
To celebrate the third annual National Bubble Tea Day on April 30, here are a few shops across Fort Worth to get your boba fix.
Fruitealicious Bubble Tea and Smoothies
Fruitealicious is a quaint and colorful bubble tea shop located on the edge of TCU’s campus. Customers may build their own boba from the base up, or they can select from suggested combinations, including El Diablo, Strawberry Shortcake, or Jasmine Tootea Fruitea.

Kung Fu Tea
With more than 250 locations, Kung Fu has grown to become the largest bubble tea brand across the nation. In fact, National Bubble Tea Day was founded at Kung Fu’s first franchise in New York. To celebrate, Kung Fu is extending deals throughout the week, which will culminate in a free drink credit exclusive through its app.

1102 Express Bubble Tea & Coffee
1102 offers an array of customizable flavors, from the tea base to the level of sweetness. Choose from black, oolong, or a jasmine base at sweetness increments of 25%. Aside from boba, 1102 also serves coffee, sorbet, French sodas, and smoothies.

Kokee Tea
Located inside the Hulen Mall, Kokee Tea’s menu features many classic flavors, including strawberry, mango, lychee, and taro tea, in addition to those a little less common, such as piña colada and Oreo. If you’re not sure what to order, try Kokee’s Dalgona Brown Sugar Cold Cloud.

Ding Tea
Donning the slogan, “Shake for Life,” Ding Tea promises each of its teas are freshly shaken and made to order. If you visit on a Tuesday or Thursday, be sure to take advantage of its buy one, get one 50% off happy hour.

Gong Cha
“Gong Cha,” which translates to “tribute tea for the emperor,” has come to be recognized for its milk foam topping. For this Friday only, Gong Cha is offering one free topping with a purchase of any drink from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Sharetea
Having only recently celebrated its third anniversary in Fort Worth last weekend, Sharetea is working to expand the Taiwanese tea culture across the city. Choose from 30-plus varieties all made with real tea leaves, but its most popular flavors may be its Hokkaido milk tea or mango mojito.

Feng Cha
With two locations across the city, Feng Cha has quickly emerged onto the Fort Worth bubble tea scene. Those not so familiar with boba may want to stick to the classic milk tea, but others may venture to try Feng Cha’s Oreo cheese milk tea or Dirty Boba.
