Join a writing workshop with Heather Harper Ellett on March 28 at the Ridglea Branch or watch online via Zoom.
Creativity is imperative to our happiness but is often the first thing to suffer in times of great stress. Political strife, grief, loneliness, health challenges, fear, loss, frustration: the past few years have had all the plot twists of a bad fiction. Maybe you’ve felt stuck and unable to write at all. Or maybe you’ve managed to write, but it’s as uninspired as your aunt’s Facebook posts.
In this interactive class, licensed professional counselor, novelist and fellow human being Heather Harper Ellett will help you build a first aid kit for maintaining creativity through difficult times, including tips and exercises inspired by narrative therapy, neuropsychology and popular novels dealing with dark topics. We will focus on transforming difficulties into creative output, but also look at creativity as a revolutionary act of hope.
This presentation is part of the library’s quarterly writers workshop series and will be available in-person as well as on Zoom.
As a destination for discovery, your Fort Worth Public Library is a location for learners of any age. We designed this program for adults.
