Grab a coat, Charlie Brown, because it’s gotten chilly at the Gaylord Texan Resort with the kickoff of the 16th annual Lone Star Christmas event.
Now open, the Gaylord Texan Resort’s 16th annual Lone Star Christmas lets guests gear up for the holiday season. The iconic ICE! exhibit, kept at a brisk nine degrees, reintroduces sculptures themed off of “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” The Gaylord says this exhibit is the only theme to ever be repeated due to popular demand.
Hand-carved ice sculptures of Charles Shultz’s classic comic strip companions are complemented by an eight-lane snow tubing hill. Breakfast with the Charlie Brown crew, gingerbread house construction, ice skating in a 6,000-square-foot outdoor rink and a lot more make for a truly unique yuletide tradition.
Of note, the Charlie Brown sculptures were carved from more than 2 million pounds of ice in Harbin, China before traveling all the way into the Grapevine resort. The 125-acre spectacle also includes millions of twinkling lights and lavish large-scale decor.
‘Tis the season for weeks to come with events running from Nov. 15 to Jan. 5. More details on events, activities and purchasing tickets and holiday room packages can be found at christmasatgaylordtexan.com.
