NEIGHBORHOOD SUMMARY:
Sitting next to TCU campus is the small neighborhood of University Place. A casual and laid-back vibe exudes from this area with Frog fans clad in purple swarming the streets. This neighborhood is considered one of the most historically intact areas in Fort Worth with great architectural preservation including prairie bungalows and Tudor cottages. University Place is bordered on the north by Park Hill Dr., on the east by Merida St., on the south by the TCU campus and on the west by University Drive.
University Place became attractive to developers after the City of Fort Worth acquired Forest Park in 1909 and TCU moved to its present campus in 1910. Most of the homes were then built after World War 1, between 1924 and 1929.
