Since last September, I’ve been working on making over my “new-to-me” house. It’s a traditional ranch style home, but my style isn’t exactly traditional. Yes I love traditional elements, but mixing old with new (and traditional with contemporary) has always been a thing of mine. When designing my formal dining room, I wanted to make sure to continue that concept throughout. I also wanted the space to feel formal, yet comfortable and welcoming all at the same time.

My formal living and dining rooms are connected, so I had to keep that in mind when designing the dining room. You might want to check out my recent living room makeover to give you a better idea of the overall space.
