For over forty years, runners have enjoyed stepping up their run game while also helping people in need get much needed scholarship assistance at the annual YMCA Turkey Trot. Three start times will begin at the Shops in Clearfork at 5188 Monahans Avenue on November 23, beginning at 8 a.m.
The 1K Hapi Water Gobbler Trot will take place at 8 a.m. sharp followed by both the 8K and 13K runs at 8:15 a.m. and then a 5K, which begins at 8:30 a.m. That’s right all you running enthusiasts, this is the first year the Turkey Trot has hosted a C4 Energy 13k double challenge option. And for all you pet lovers, get you leashes ready, because there will also be an Alley Cat and Dog Trot run time as well. Tickets for this event range from $61 to $20, with 100% of the proceeds going to support the Y’s diverse programming. Some of the proceeds from this run will go to help with childcare, water safety lessons, summer camp, youth sports, health programs, senior engagement, food insecurity and more.
“No matter where you Trot with us, you’re helping the Y continue to provide opportunities and access for all,” a statement says on the Y’s website.

After successfully completing both the 8K and the 5K portions of the race, 13K participants will be awarded not one, not two, but three finisher medals – one for the 5K, one for the 8K, and one for the challenging 13K.
