Carhartt cut the ribbon on its new 4,300-square-foot retail store this week in north Fort Worth.
The store, at 2217 N. Tarrant Parkway at Presidio Towne Crossing, is the company’s 39th standalone retail store in the country and its second company-owned location in Texas. The first, in Tyler, opened in September, according to company officials.
“We are thrilled to add Fort Worth to our retail footprint to make Carhartt’s durable and versatile workwear easily available a thriving community of skilled trade workers in industries like oil, gas, manufacturing and construction,” said Mark Kastner, director of direct-to-consumer store strategy and experience at Carhartt. “With Fort Worth also the home of our newest distribution center and our second retail location in the state, we are pleased to expand our retail presence to meet the needs of hardworking Texans.”
Established in 1889, Carhartt is a global workwear (hoodies, overalls, boots, heavy duty workwear) brand headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan. The company has more than 3,000 employees worldwide. Carhartt is family-owned and managed by the descendants of the company’s founder, Hamilton Carhartt.
Carhartt also opened a 1.2 million-square-foot distribution center in Fort Worth in October. The facility is located at 16101 Wolff Crossing, near Texas Motor Speedway. It will employ 500.
As an incentive to build the distribution center, the city of Fort Worth agreed to grant the company a seven-year tax abatement.
The Fort Worth store’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
