If you still had any doubts about Dickies Arena being big time — The Thang — officials with Fort Worth’s principal big event space pasted on social media platforms evidence to doubt no more.
Dickies Arena was the fourth-highest grossing venue worldwide, according to Billboard.
“Fort Worth is the best market, and we Fort Worthians have known this. However, it is great that the international stage is seeing Dickies Arena mentioned more and more in the press and trades. It is truly an incredible honor to make the international Billboard top 10 list,” said Matt Homan president and general manager of Dickies Arena.
“The world is now seeing how unique Fort Worth is: a beautiful blend of Cowtown and Funky Town.”

The ranking was for venues with a seating capacity between 10,001-15,000 between Nov. 1, 2021 through Oct. 31, 2022.
Dickies had total gross revue of more than $45 million with a total attendance for that period of 589,157 on 79 shows. The Moody Center in Austin had a total gross of more than $62 million. Billboard's figures are lean from the reality. Dickies has actually entertained closer to 930,000, if you factor in every event (which Billboard doesn't) and paid suite tickets, according to a Dickies spokeswoman.
Sold-out shows at Dickies in its last fiscal year included Parker McCollum, TWICE, New Edition, Eric Church, Joe Rogan, Paul McCartney — that’s Sir Paul McCartney to you and me — Koe Wetzel, Rod Stewart, Maverick City, Rocket League, The Killers, Bert Kreischer, Pit Bull, Reba McEntire, Whiskey Myers, Post Malone, and Chris Stapleton.
The NCAA men’s basketball tournament, Rocket League, and the WTA Finals drew international audiences and visitors.
The new fiscal year is already off to a roaring start with two sold-out concerts by George Strait and another by The Eagles.
