A city-led virtual meeting is coming up on Monday for residents to review the master plan for the upcoming Tim Watson Park.
Located at 8851 S. Normandale St., the Tim Watson Park is currently about three acres and includes walking trails, security lighting, and a playground. The City of Fort Worth is concentrating on those amenities as the top three but plans to expand if the budget allows.
“We’re going to try to implement the entire site,” park manager Clarence Bryant says. “Eventually, once we come into a bigger budget, we will try to utilize the entire park so we can say it’s a seven-acre park.”
Monday's discussion follows up on a previous meeting in which residents expressed what they wanted to see in their community park. During the follow-up meeting, residents should expect to see a master plan of what the city's Park & Recreation department is envisioning for the park. Then, the department will open up for comments.
Tim Watson Park was named after a member of the Watson family, who had an accident on a track and passed away. The park is set to open November 2021.
Residents can join the meeting via Webex on Monday at 6:30 p.m. The meeting number is 126 265 6335; the meeting password is 73ExVTnZVP5; and the phone-in number is 469-210-7159.
