We may hope and pray that our team does well every season, but for TCU fans, those hopes and prayers have become a reality. So real, in fact, that TCU fans can hardly control their excitement in the wake of this momentous achievement. So, to show their team spirit, Horned Frogs fans are prepping for the biggest Go Purple Friday of the year.
Why you may ask?
Well, unless you’ve been living under a rock this past year, the TCU football team has been killing it on the gridiron. And for their efforts, the Horned Frogs will play their very first college playoff game in history at 3 pm on December 31. So where can all of the TCU fans that want to avoid the horrible holiday travel delays go? Well, look no further, for your convenience, we’ve compiled a list of local bars and eateries hosting the game.
Options just down the street from the mecca — TCU:
- Cidercade’s Fort Worth location could be a great place to view the bowl game since they have several large-screen TVs.
- Dutch’s Hamburgers and Dutch’s Burrito Bar will both be open for the game.
- Jon’s Grille has all the leftover large screens we suppose they couldn’t fit in Buffalo Bros.
- Lola’s indoor/outdoor space should make it a great place to watch the game.
- Lot 12 has two stories of bar action that could be a great option for a large crowd. Oh, and they also have Topgolf.
- The Poop Deck A TCU alum favorite that may or may not have hosted some of the Horned Frogs after home games could be a nice choice.
- The Pub, which boasts that it is open every damn day from 3 pm to 2 am, will be open in just in time for kick-off.
Near Southside Options:
- Twilite Lounge, Upper 90, Maggie’s R&R, Shaw’s Patio Bar and Grill and HopFusion are all viable options given that they meet the criteria for a good afternoon of fun-loving debauchery, and all have big TVs.
