Globe Life Field
In a year when sports got temporarily canceled and concerts postponed, Globe Life Field still managed to open with a bang, hosting events like the World Series and, most recently, the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
The Sports Business Journal noticed.
The national publication named Globe Life Field "Best Facility Debut" in 2020 as part of its second-annual Year-End Awards, released in the Dec. 14 issue.
The editorial staff at the SBJ, led by assistant managing editor Ted Keith, determined the winners over the course of several months, reviewing dozens of candidates before casting multiple rounds of votes to finalize the honorees.
“This process allowed us to look back at an incredible period of change in sports business,” SBJ’s publisher and executive editor Abraham Madkour said in a statement. “We were certainly challenged to pick just one winner in each category because there were so many outstanding candidates that speak to just how much innovation has taken place in sports during this challenging year.”
The awards honored winners in 13 categories. Other honorees include:
- Best Hire: Jason Wright, president, Washington Football Team
