Communities around the country are coming together to bring relief to our Gulf Coast neighbors affected by Hurricane Ida. Here are a few ways you can help from right here in Cowtown.
This article will be updated as more organizations provide information on how they plan to help.
The Wild Cajun
Seafood supplier The Wild Cajun, which provides the shrimp and other goods to Fort Worth restaurants like Waters, suffered major damage to its production facility in Dulac, Louisiana. Owner Jesse Gibson has started a GoFundMe page to raise money for not just his own cleanup and repairs but also to help others affected by the storm. Those looking to donate can do so via this link.
Gibson is also collecting items like tarp, gas gallons, bottled water, hygiene items, and other goods through midnight Tuesday and until noon on Wednesday, to be taken to Dulac and the Bayou Grand Caillou community. Those goods can be dropped off at 7358 Winnell Way, North Richland Hills.
Monetary donations can also be made via Venmo (@thewildcajun) or Cash App ($thewildcajun). Please label donations as "hurricane relief."
