Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker and Tennis Champ Andre Agassi will celebrate the ribbon-cutting of Stop Six's newest elementary early next week.
Rocketship Dennis Dunkins Elementary — Rocketship Public Schools Texas's flagship school — is a tuition-free charter school for students in Southeast Fort Worth. Serving 350 students, the school ranges from pre-k to third grade but will eventually expand to fifth grade.
The campus, at 3520 East Berry Street, is an investment of the Turner-Agassi Education Facilities Fund, which focuses on investing in and providing facilities for charter schools that achieve academic excellence in urban areas.
The ribbon cutting — in which Rocketship Texas Superintendent SaJade Miller and Mayor Pro Tem Gyna Bivens will also join — is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, outside of the school.
Rocketship also has schools in California's Bay Area, Nashville, Milwaukee, and D.C.
