As Fort Worth's hospitality industry continues to recover following February's snowstorm, convention and visitors bureau Visit Fort Worth is launching a campaign in hopes to rally more support for local businesses.
The campaign, dubbed #LoveLocal, launched Monday and will last throughout March. Through social media and advertising on local radio, magazines, and websites, along with customizable graphics for local businesses and partner organizations, Visit Fort Worth hopes residents will dine at local restaurants, shop at local shops, and support other local entities and nonprofits.
“Tourism is built on the strength of our local community, especially small business. We want to remind our fellow residents the impact they make when share their resources with others,” Mitch Whitten, executive vice president of marketing and strategy for Visit Fort Worth, said in a statement.
Among the organizations supporting the campaign are the City of Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Tarrant County, the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth Now, and Downtown Fort Worth, Inc.
#LoveLocal follows Visit Fort Worth's previously launched (and currently ongoing) campaigns, Y’all Wear a Mask, Now Open, and Re-Open Responsibly — each aimed at providing visitors and locals updated information on COVID-19 openings and closures, as well as health and safety protocols.
