The Golden Triangle Branch Library was supposed to open summer 2018, delayed by construction and later COVID-19. But the far north Fort Worth location was finally able to welcome guests Tuesday when it opened to the public for limited services.
The 15,000-square-foot facility, which also houses a municipal court satellite office, features more than 50,000 items including books, DVDs, Blu-Rays, robotic kits, and WiFi hotspots. There's also a dedicated area for future children’s activities and story times, a meeting room with up to 100 seats, and a creative lab that will offer science and technology classes once pandemic limitations are lifted.
Library visitors are required to wear face coverings and pass a temperature screening. The library is also limiting capacity, and guests can only stay inside for one hour.
Curbside service will also continue — that's how the library initially opened during the pandemic, as one of the first five libraries to offer curbside.
“I never would have predicted that this was the way Golden Triangle would be introduced to the neighborhood, but we are so thrilled to open the doors," JeTaun Colbert said in a statement.
The library's address is 4264 Golden Triangle Blvd. Hours are 10:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and noon – 5 p.m. Saturday.
