Amplify 817 is extending its invitation to all local artists, asking them to submit their music to the online music streaming service.
Musicians selected by curators will join a group of eight artists already on the platform, including Taylor Pace, Lou CharLe$ and Summer Dean.
Amplify 817 will provide an initial payment to musicians to offer their work for three years. The current honorarium amount is $300.
Though anyone can listen to the free collection and discover local artists, only Fort Worth Public Library cardholders can download the music.
The project, which is meant to feature and promote Fort Worth artists exclusively, is a partnership between the Fort Worth Public Library and Hear Fort Worth. It is supported by the Fort Worth Public Library Foundation.
Musicians who live and often perform in the Fort Worth area can submit their work until June 30.
The project is also looking for four or five supporters or members of the Fort Worth music scene who can serve as curators. In this role, they will review submissions to be included in the collection this summer.
Individuals interested in working as a curator for Amplify 817 can email [email protected] by June 22 for more information.
