There is absolutely no shortage of fine art and fun this month. From April 26–28, Southlake Town Square comes alive with almost 145 visual artists, music, food and entertainment for all ages. This year's music headliner is Keith Anderson, who will perform April 27. Art in the Square was recently ranked as the No. 8 Fine Arts Festival in the U.S. in Art Fair Source Book 2012. "For little bitty Southlake, that [distinction] is pretty remarkable," said Amy Schroeder, publicity chair, Southlake Women's Club.
This year's featured artist is David Barnes, whose vibrant works with charcoal, pastel and oil are reminiscent of Impressionism. Since the festival's inception in 2000, more than $1,700,000 has been raised to support charitable organizations serving women and families in Northeast Tarrant County.
