Fort Worth has been named a CreativeMornings city, a place for local creatives to attend free monthly lectures and talks over a hot cup of coffee.
CreativeMornings Fort Worth will host free monthly gatherings to spark creativity. Lectures will feature local speakers to chat about justice, art, and happiness.
The organization, founded in 2008, got its start in New York when founder Tina Roth Eisenberg saw the need to promote creativity in communities. It’s now one of the world’s largest face-to-face creative communities and serves more than 200 cities worldwide, according to a news release.
Vivian Carrasco, chapter host for CreativeMornings Fort Worth, applied to join the organization after noticing the need for a cultural and creative space in the city.
“I’m excited to be an example for others like me who aren’t sure where they fit in, but they want to find a sense of belonging in a community of people who are passionate about relating and creating,” Carrasco said in the release.
CreativeMornings Fort Worth will hold its inaugural gathering at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 25 at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, located at 1700 University Drive. It’ll feature guest speaker Sarah Sampson, founder of the Ecstatic Dance Fort Worth Chapter, who will explore how movement helps creative work. Anybody’s welcome to attend.
CreativeMornings Fort Worth’s will gather on the fourth Friday of each month. The gathering location will vary. Head over to creativemornings.com/fw for more info.
