Arlington Heights Girl Scout Troop 96 and their leaders pose for a photograph with The Merci Train, on view at the Fort Worth Children's Museum. This souvenir was one of 49 boxcars given to the United States by the French government in appreciation for more than 700 boxcars of relief goods sent to France, primarily by Americans, in 1948. Each boxcar was filled with tens of thousands of gifts from French citizens - ranging from dolls and coins to wine buckets and pieces of stone chiseled from the streets of Paris.
