Meow Wolf, the Santa Fe-based interactive art exhibit with an installment in Grapevine titled "The Real Unreal," has been officially recognized as one of this year’s "World’s Most Innovative Companies" on a list released by Fast Company — a national American business magazine that prints six times a year.
This year’s list includes a series of businesses that are setting new standards and achieving remarkable milestones in all sectors of the economy, according to a release. Besides its "World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies" list, Fast Company also recognizes over 600 organizations that span fifty-eight sectors and regions.
“Every Meow Wolf visit sparks a personal revolution, shattering norms and reimagining the role creativity can play in each one of our lives,” Jose Tolosa, CEO of Meow Wolf says. “Being recognized alongside such groundbreaking companies only fuels our commitment to exploring new realms of innovation and inclusivity.”
This accolade comes a year after the Santa Fe-based interactive art exhibit embarked on a series of inclusive initiatives at all of it exhibits across the nation.
Besides broadening its narrative reach into the digital realm last year, Meow Wolf also achieved Certified Autism Center status, alongside a collaboration with Aira to assist visitors with low hearing or deafness. To top this all off, Meow Wolf is also a Certified B Corporation, which means the company/art collective must consider how its business decisions will impact its employees and community rather than focusing on maximizing its value.

“These initiatives highlight Meow Wolf's relentless pursuit of redefining the boundaries between art, technology, and storytelling, captivating and inspiring a global audience,” a spokesperson for Meow Wolf said.
The "World’s Most Innovative Companies" is Fast Company’s most read and anticipated franchises, which gives innovative companies from around the globe a nod of recognition. The process of picking these companies falls on the publication's editors and writers, who identify companies that drive progress around the world after evaluating thousands of submissions through a competitive application process. From early-stage startups to some of the most valuable companies in the world, Fast Company’s list of "Most Innovative Companies" is one industry insiders look to as an industry standard.
“Our list of the 'Most Innovative Companies' is both a comprehensive look at the innovation economy and a snapshot of the business trends that defined the year,” said Fast Company editor-in-chief Brendan Vaughan. “We saw extraordinary innovation across the board in 2023, but we also saw a handful of clear patterns: the growing footprint and impact of AI, the triumphant return of live events, and great leaps forward in climate tech. We face daunting challenges on many fronts, but the solutions we celebrate in MIC give me plenty of hope about the future.”
