OK here we go Fort Worth. This first attempt will be a little shaky, but bare with me. Generally, it is not my preference to fight the crowds to see the latest "blockbuster" on release day so my comments will be a week out in most cases. (However, I WILL be standing in line to see "Magic Mike" which releases in the States June 29th)
Even if you have never heard of "Dark Shadows" (the campy soap opera of the 60's) the movie based on the series is just as campy and fun. Love Johnny Depp anyway, and he is brilliant as Barnabas Collins. Also, Helena Bonham-Carter is a runner up as my favorite character. The two of them do team up so well with Tim Burton don't they? Check out Reelz on satelite/cable to see some good interviews with the cast and crew. Although, I am getting a little bored with Michele Pfeiffer and how she got the role. Hmmm, guess I would have done the same thing!!
On to "Marvel's The Avengers" . OK, I read Archie and Jughead/Betty and Veronica comics as a kid. Uh oh, I gave it away. So, I don't know the back stories on some of the Super Heroes- unless they are in a movie already. Movie is fun and I really enjoyed it even though plot is silly, but it is based on comic books. Go figure. Plenty of eye candy for us all. My favorite is Mark Ruffalo. Gets better every year!
