Texas Ballet Theater's Jiyan Dai and Andre Silva
Update: Due to winter storm-related rehearsal delays, Texas Ballet Theater has rescheduled "The Story of You" and "VREC" to March 25 – April 9.
For the first time since February 2020, Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) is presenting new performances — and bringing them straight to your electronic device this spring.
Company dancers choreographed these four ballets making their world premiere. Due to COVID-19, in-person performances had to shift to an online platform.
Carl Coomer’s “The Story of You,” along with Riley Moyano’s “VREC,” will be available on TBT’s website from March 18 – April 2. Andre Silva’s “Bloom” and Jiyan Dai’s unnamed ballet will be available from April 15 – 30. This is Jiyan and Moyano’s first time having their work presented by TBT.
“COVID-19 disrupted our original plans for the spring, as it did for so many other organizations,” executive director Vanessa Logan said in a statement. “However, that disruption created an incredible opportunity for this group of dancer-choreographers. We look forward to sharing their creativity and innovation with our patrons.”
Tickets are $30 per household and can be purchased on TBT's website.
