Sandbox VR, an immersive, full-body virtual reality experience, officially opens the doors to its first Fort Worth location on Friday.
The Fort Worth location marks the company’s second in Texas and 14th in the U.S., with others throughout Asia, Canada, and one opening soon in Europe. Backed by celebrities including Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, and Will Smith, the new location features a 10,000-square-foot space at 2956 Crockett Street within Crockett Row in the West 7th corridor.
The space features four full-size Holodecks, each equipped with the newest VR technology. Players can provide themselves with a VR headset, a haptic vest, a backpack, and motion sensors on their wrists and ankles.
"Launching in Fort Worth, our first North Texas location, is hugely exciting for us,” says Sandbox VR founder Steven Zhao in a statement. “We're proud to bring Sandbox VR to this vibrant community of families, university students, and young professionals."

The Fort Worth Sandbox VR offers six exclusive VR experiences, including Amber Sky 2088, Deadwood Mansion, Curse of Davy Jones, Unbound Fighting League (UFL), Star Trek Discover: Away Mission, and their newest experience, Deadwood Valley.
“Crockett Row at West 7th is becoming one of the top destinations for experiential entertainment in all of North Texas. The fact that Sandbox VR selected Crockett Row as its second location in Texas is proof of this,” says Sierra Tuthill, marketing manager for Crockett Row at West 7th. “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome the VR fans to Crockett Row for a family-friendly activity unlike any other.”
Coinciding with the opening in Fort Worth, Sandbox VR will open another location at Mockingbird Station in Dallas, also on Friday.
Each Sandbox VR experience lasts approximately 45 minutes. Participants must be at least 48 inches tall to play. Fort Worth Sandbox VR is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday—Thursday and from 10 a.m.- 12 a.m. Friday-Sunday. For more information on Sandbox VR, visit sandboxvr.com.
