Bell Fort Worth Alliance Air Show
Not only does Fort Worth have the top zoo in the nation — it has the top air show, too.
A couple weeks ago, while locals were gushing over pictures of animals posing next to food shaped like the No. 1 after the Fort Worth Zoo was named No. 1 in the U.S. by USA Today, the Bell Fort Worth Alliance Air Show was celebrating its own victory as the No. 1 air show.
This is the third year the Alliance Air Show has made USA Today's list and first year the show has claimed the top spot. Rankings were determined after four weeks of public voting.
“We are honored to have been nominated for three years in a row and are thrilled to have finally claimed that coveted first spot,” said Christina Carey, director of special projects of Alliance Air Productions, the producer of the event and a nonprofit organization created by development company Hillwood. “A huge thank you to all of our longtime fans and everyone who participated in the contest."
2020 marks the air show's 30th anniversary and will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the F-35C U.S. Navy Air Show Team, and others.
In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alliance Air Show is still scheduled to take place Oct. 17 – 18 at Fort Worth Alliance Airport. According to a news release, "the air show’s leadership team has been discussing all potential scenarios since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic," and any changes will be announced in early to mid-August.
